Transportation Fleet Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Transportation Fleet Manager to lead their fleet operations in a fully remote capacity. This role is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of the company's transportation fleet, ensuring maximum efficiency, safety, regulatory compliance, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of fleet management best practices, strong analytical skills, and a proven ability to manage complex logistical operations remotely.

You will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategies for fleet acquisition, maintenance, routing, and driver management. This is a key leadership position that requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to operational excellence, all managed from a remote setting.

• Develop and implement comprehensive fleet management strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and disposal of fleet vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, including licensing, permits, and safety standards.
• Manage fuel consumption, maintenance schedules, and repair costs to optimize operational expenses.
• Develop and implement efficient routing and scheduling strategies to minimize transit times and costs.
• Manage driver recruitment, training, performance, and compliance with company policies.
• Implement and utilize fleet management software for tracking, reporting, and analysis.
• Monitor fleet performance metrics, analyze data, and recommend improvements.
• Ensure the safety and security of all fleet operations and personnel.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align fleet operations with overall business objectives.

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in fleet management, transportation logistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience managing a large and diverse fleet of vehicles.
• In-depth knowledge of fleet maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance programs.
• Strong understanding of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with fleet management software and telematics systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial management skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to effectively manage a team and operations remotely.
• Experience in route optimization and logistics planning is highly desirable.
