Inventory Control Specialist

Our client is looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join their team in Cape Town . This role is pivotal in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the integrity of stock levels across multiple locations. You will be responsible for implementing and managing inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits, and identifying discrepancies to minimize loss and optimize stock rotation.

The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving, contributing to the overall efficiency of the supply chain operations within a busy distribution hub.

• Maintain accurate inventory records through diligent data entry and system updates in the WMS.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to verify stock accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve inventory variances, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Monitor stock levels and work with procurement teams to ensure adequate stock availability while minimizing excess inventory.
• Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures to prevent stock shrinkage and damage.
• Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and recommend improvements to stock management processes.

• Previous experience in an inventory control or stock management role.
• Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to conduct physical counts and manage stock reconciliation processes.
