ConstructionCoordinator Position Summary
The Construction Coordinator supports on‑site project execution for JLL's Project & Development Services team on the Toyota Motor North America account. This role serves as the primary on‑site representative responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day construction activities, verifying work against approved drawings and specifications, and ensuring contractor compliance with Toyota's Construction Safety Requirements (TCSR). The Construction Coordinator also fulfills Toyota's designated on‑site Project Leader and Safety Representative functions as authorized by Toyota, and holds authority to stop work when unsafe conditions are identified.
CoreResponsibilities
Construction Oversight & Drawing Compliance
- Serve as the on‑site JLL representative for all active construction activities within assigned project scope.
- Review and interpret approved construction drawings, specifications, and submittals to verify contractor work is installed correctly and in conformance with design intent.
- Conduct regular site walks to observe work in progress, document field conditions, and identify non‑conformances.
- Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to resolve field conflicts and drawing discrepancies, escalating to the Project Manager as needed.
- Maintain a current set of approved drawings on site at all times.
- Track and document Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and field changes to ensure the project record remains current.
Project Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily construction logs capturing work performed, contractor headcount, weather conditions, safety observations, and any notable events.
- Photograph and document construction progress at regular intervals for inclusion in project reporting.
- Upload daily pictures of construction progress, D18 daily work activities, all submitted D Documents, 3 weeks look ahead onto BUILD.
- Support the Project Manager in preparing status updates, schedule variance reports, and client‑facing deliverables.
- Review all submitted D documents from the GC for accuracy.
- Attend weekly OAC meetings minutes.
- Track open items, punch list items, and contractor action items through to closure.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of TCSR D‑Form documentation as directed by the Project Manager.
- Ability to work on some weekends.
- Serve as the primary day‑to‑day point of contact for contractors on site, coordinating access, sequencing, and logistics.
- Attend and participate in daily pre‑task meetings, toolbox talks, and project coordination meetings.
- Coordinate with Toyota facilities, security, and engineering departments on work permits, access requirements, and site‑specific protocols.
- Support the completion and routing of work permit applications including D‑15 (Notice of Work), D‑44, D‑45, and other applicable D‑Forms.
- OSHA 30‑Hour Outreach Course for the Construction Industry (U.S.) — must hold current, valid certification.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings across multiple disciplines (architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical).
