Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Long-Term Substitute Instructor

The purpose of the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Long-Term Substitute Instructor is to provide additional instructional support for the EMR program. The EMR Long-Term Substitute Instructor will support the delivery of career and technical education aligned with the established EMR curriculum, including emergency medical services systems, roles and responsibilities of EMRs, anatomy and physiology, medical emergencies, trauma care, and special considerations in the prehospital setting.

Responsibilities may include assisting with instruction, reinforcing curriculum concepts, supporting student learning, and performing additional instructional and classroom-related duties as needed.

This is a long-term substitute assignment for the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) program. Applicants must possess relevant professional experience and subject-matter knowledge in emergency medical response to effectively deliver instruction aligned with the program curriculum. This position is intended for candidates with the qualifications necessary to provide specialized instruction in the EMR field and is not a general substitute teaching assignment.

Experience Desired:
Three (3) years of Emergency Medical Responder (EMR). One (1) of the three (3) years of the required experience must be within the last five (5) years, or two (2) years within the last ten (10) years.

Education Required:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree highly desirable. Credentials/Certificates/Licenses:
Possession of a valid CA CTE 30-day substitute teaching permit or valid CA Designated Subjects or CTE credential. (See link on right for further credential information.)
