Join NELLSON and Become Part of a Winning Team of Professionals! We currently have an immediate opportunity for a Sanitation Lead to join the BAR DIVISION at our ONTARIO, CALIFORNIA location. The Sanitation Lead is responsible for completing the cleaning and sanitizing of production machinery, process equipment, warehouse equipment and buildings in adherence to the strictest standards of food safety, health, safety and hygiene.

The Certified Technical Trainer (CTT) serves as the technical trainer/mentor for continuous skills development in their department and reports to the department Supervisor. The CTT will be certified by the plant CSD Specialist and be a member of the CSD Team.

Shift Hours

3pm - 3:30am; weekend availability required

Job Summary

The Sanitation Lead is responsible for completing the cleaning and sanitizing of production machinery, process equipment, warehouse equipment and buildings in adherence to the strictest standards of food safety, health, safety and hygiene. The Certified Technical Trainer (CTT) serves as the technical trainer/mentor for continuous skills development in their department and reports to the department Supervisor. The CTT will be certified by the plant CSD Specialist and be a member of the CSD Team.

Principle

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Comply with PPE, SOP’s and GMP Standards
  • Ensure continuity between shifts by documenting cleaning actions noting areas requiring additional care or monitoring.
  • Shall stay overtime ONLY when lines are down due to the changeover or as directed by Sanitation Manager.
  • Shall stay after their shift to fill out Daily Sanitation Report and email it to co-leads and Management, if not able to complete within shift.
  • Must always work safely and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Be motivated and be a self-starter.
  • Promote and maintain good employee relations.
  • Ensure that all Environmental swabs are being done on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain chemical usage and cleaning logs.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities, to work effectively under strict time constraints.
  • Hold sanitation and production staff accountable.
  • Develop and train all steps of each plant clean-up.
  • Communicate efficiently with maintenance specialist and supervisors on all issues.
  • Ability to understand and work with automated equipment.
  • Ability to change out check valves as required without assistance from the maintenance department.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of cleaning systems.
  • Knowledge of Chemical Safety and working with caustic and acid cleaners.
  • Ability to mix chemicals to the exact dilution based on chemical providers guidelines.
  • Ability to read and understand all SDS’s.
  • Ability to read and comment all cleaning steps on the attribute sheets.
  • Knowledge of all cleaning tasks in Packaging.
  • Knowledge of all cleaning tasks in Processing.
  • Complete understanding of SSOP’s and Work Instructions
  • Complete understanding of the definition “Dry Clean”.
  • Complete understanding of the definition “Wet Clean”, “COP” and “CIP”
  • Complete understanding of the definition “Allergen Clean”.
  • Ability to train and evaluate new hires.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work and communicate efficiently with Supervisors or Leads to ensure on time start-ups.
  • Must provide support to everyone on the line and able to determine which areas need additional support and provide it based on sanitation needs and issues.
  • Must have strong attendance record.
  • Lift trash cans, bags, and debris more than 30lbs. repeatedly.
  • Ability to drive and operate a floor scrubber.
  • Ability to drive and operate scissor lift.
  • Ability to drive and operate boom lift.
  • Ability to drive and operate forklift.
  • Capable of working with minimum supervision, be able to problem solve and comprehend methods of cleaning and safety within the facility.
