SummaryThis position is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, and programming all packaging equipment on various lines. It provides support by covering vacancies and training employees in all Packaging Operator positions to ensure that all packaging area equipment and people are able to package potato products efficiently and consistently with customer, quality assurance, and packaging goals and expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the efficient operation of the Blueprint case packer, case erector, baggers, Ishida scales, and all supporting equipment on the Retail Line/Line 4 for optimal performance.
- Ensure baggers, Ishida scales, and supporting equipment meet required packaged volumes.
- Ensure package machines and supporting equipment achieve required weights and bag/case condition.
- Enter downtime data into MMS.
- Correct underweight cases and slip cases as needed.
- Maintain packing equipment and the immediate area in a food‑sanitary manner that meets company standards.
- Ensure packaging materials are readily available at all times.
- Program all packaging equipment correctly.
- Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot all packaging equipment.
- Provide training on all procedures and operating techniques.
- Work with maintenance to perform preventive maintenance.
- Adjust packaging equipment, baggers, Ishida scales, and bag coder for efficient operation and optimize components.
- Attend and participate in training activities appropriate to the position.
- Follow safe work practices and policies to prevent injuries.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and union labor agreement.
- Work in a participative management style conducive to operational goals.
- Handle additional accountabilities as required by management to meet operational goals.
High school diploma or GED.
Relevant Experience3+ years of related experience and/or training.
Other InformationOvertime is common and may be required to meet operational goals.
Must be able to work around and consume products containing soy, wheat, and dairy.
Shift: 6:00am-6:00pm.
