Overview
Snapology is a leading Children s Enrichment franchise focused on active, hands-on learning. Our approach is based on research indicating that children learn best when they create, design, interact and invent. We provide training and complete curriculum, with flexibility to adapt to each group from Pre-K through Middle School.
Take part in a team that values creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving while teaching STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) concepts. This role is part-time and supports multiple programs across ages 2-14.
PositionPosition: The primary focus of an Instructor is to teach Snapology programs and promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving. Instructors educate students on STEM concepts and collaborate with Snapology leadership, while representing the organization to parents and children with professionalism. Not all instructors are required to teach every age group.
Role & Responsibilities- Lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum materials and participating in training
- Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs
- Encourage students and parents to enroll in future Snapology programs
- Participate in periodic Snapology training and staff meetings, as required
- Criminal and Child Clearances must be current
- 2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
- Education degree or teaching experience recommended; teachers or pursuing a degree in education will also be considered
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
- Weekday after-school and/or evening classes
- Weekend workshops and/or birthday parties
- Summer camps
- Special events, holiday and break workshops
This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, Instructors typically work between 6-30 hours per week.
