The EMT I performs pre-hospital care in a holistic systematic way, produces quality patient care with optimal patient outcomes. Utilizes State of Alabama Protocols to deliver quality patient care. Incorporates data and information to improve patient care. Performs a comprehensive patient assessment by interpreting multiple, at times conflicting data, and proceeding to give patient care based on findings. Documents patient care activities and relays pertinent patient information to those who have a need to know.

Drives and operates emergency vehicles in a safe manner in accordance to state rules and regulations.

• Minimum Education:
  
  high school diploma or GED
• Minimum Experience:
  
  N/A
• Required Registration/License/Certification: EMT Advanced License; BLS within 90 days; EVOC within 90 days;
  Drivers License;
  National Registry upon hire unless grandfathered in before registry was mandatory
• Preferred Education:
  
  Associates Degree
• Preferred Experience:

• Preferred Registration/License/Certification: ACLS
