POSITION SUMMARY

The East Alabama Medical Center Interpreter will facilitate communication for limited English proficient (LEP) patients, and family members that serve them in a variety of settings to include medical, educational, financial, insurance, etc. This is an on‑call Position, flexibility is required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of conversation/translation competency testing in secondary language.

Minimum Experience

• Fluency in relevant language.

Required Registration/License/Certification

• Score High Intermediate on Language Proficiency test prior to interpreting.

Preferred Education

• N/A.

Preferred Experience

• 2 years healthcare experience.
• Previous medical interpreter experience.

Preferred Registration/License/Certification

• N/A.
