About

The Role

The Production Associate plays a critical role in ensuring safe and efficient production operations. Responsibilities include maintaining personal and team safety, adhering to food safety standards, and ensuring product quality. Daily duties include monitoring production lines and quality, machine operations within all areas of Frozen departments, housekeeping, loading, lifting, and any other assigned tasks. The role demands a fast‑paced, team‑oriented approach.

You’ll Be Doing
  • Adhere to safety, food safety, quality, and legal compliance.
  • Perform all work in accordance with environmental, health and safety standards, rules, regulations and practices of the facility.
  • Must be able to pass required training/certifications.
  • Responsible for checking the proper calibration of equipment assigned.
  • Maintain housekeeping standard requirements in all assigned areas.
  • Understand operator functions in assigned roles such as Assembly/Disassembly, Scale Room Operator, and/or Block Person.
  • Perform rework tasks.
  • Document completed work as required by the supervisor.
  • Compliance with all other duties assigned.
What You’ll Need
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of all assigned machines and procedures in the Grinding Room, forming area, Packaging area, Auto Packer area, Scale Room area, and/or Finished Product Robot area.
Language Skills
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Write simple correspondence.
  • Use effective problem‑solving skills.
Mathematical Skills
  • Use mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, in accordance with production paperwork.
  • Perform operations using units of weight, volume, and distance.
Physical and Visual Activities
  • Perform a variety of tasks in the meat department.
  • Visually differentiate items of color up close and at distance.
Physical Requirements
  • Wear personal protective equipment and/or clothing.
  • Stand/walk 7 or more hours per day.
  • Use eye/hand or eye/hand/foot coordination to perform tasks.
  • Twist/turn, talk/hear, taste/smell.
  • Squat, bend, reach, handle/finger, grip/grasp and use fine motor tasks frequently.
  • Lift up to 25 lbs. from floor to overhead and carry 30‑50 feet.
  • Occasionally climb.
  • Lift up to 60 lbs. from floor to shoulder level and carry 30 feet.
  • Push 60 lbs. block of frozen meat 1‑5 feet.
  • Pull empty containers 30 feet.
  • Vision: close, distance, and color vision required.
Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions
  • Work in damp, wet, humid and slippery environments.
  • Work near moving machinery with fumes or airborne debris.
  • Work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Work in extreme heat/cold (35‑40 °F).
  • Work in high noise levels requiring hearing protection.
  • Occasionally work in high places and equipment causing whole‑body vibration.
  • Occasionally operate spiral freezers (‑35 to ‑20 °F) for dry pickup and/or product jams.
Machines/Tools/Equipment
  • Bump cap, hairnet, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, and smock.
  • Rubber and cotton gloves.
  • Machines and conveyors.
  • Bar coding equipment.
