Location:
Opelika, Alabama
Type:
Full-Time
Team Size: 2–3 Developers
Target Audience:
Recent Auburn University Graduates
We’re looking for a self‑motivated, curious, and driven software developer to join our development team in Opelika. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate who’s eager to learn, grow, and make a real impact in a collaborative environment.
We develop and support software products that serve the radio broadcasting industry — providing tools for scheduling, billing, and reporting for stations in cooperation with other teams facilitating digital advertising and electronic services. Radio remains an important medium in the U.S., reaching about 75% of the population daily when combining over‑air and digital listening, highlighting the broad impact of the software you’ll help build.
This position requires working 2–3 days per week in our Opelika office, collaborating closely with a team of 2–3 experienced developers.
What You’ll Do- Develop and maintain applications built primarily in C# and C++ with SQL Server and Win Forms.
- Work with and learn from a wide range of legacy systems including VB6, Java, Delphi, and other third‑party tools.
- Read, understand, and enhance existing codebases.
- Contribute to our ongoing modernization effort as we move toward a .NET Core REST‑based framework over SQL Server.
- Help integrate and leverage AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Git Hub Copilot, ChatGPT) to improve team productivity.
- Collaborate with other developers and product teams to design and implement new features.
- A strong desire to write software and continuously improve your skills.
- Ability to learn independently and make sense of complex codebases.
- Solid understanding of programming fundamentals (object‑oriented design, data structures, debugging).
- Excellent English communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Willingness to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team environment.
- Experience with C#, C++, SQL Server, .NET Core, REST APIs, or legacy systems like VB6, Delphi, or Java.
- Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Git Hub Copilot or ChatGPT.
- Interest in broadcasting, media operations, or digital advertising industries.
- Work closely with experienced developers in a tight‑knit, supportive team.
- Gain exposure to real‑world software systems across multiple generations of technology.
- Contribute to modernizing and expanding a longstanding software platform that serves a unique and evolving industry.
- Opportunity for long‑term growth in a company that invests in its people.
