Overview:
This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) s role involves delivering high-quality nursing care, coordinating with the health care team, and supporting patient families while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients across physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care; regularly evaluate and revise plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and adherence.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care; ensure effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions; adjust to improve patient health and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families; address emotional and psychological needs.
• Supervise and delegate care provided by members of the healthcare team to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Engage in continuous professional development and participate in performance improvement activities to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
• Respond to code situations promptly and provide necessary interventions to stabilize patients.

Qualifications

• Associate's of Nursing (Required);
  Bachelor's of Nursing preferred.
• Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
• Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR Cert (RQI)
• Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
• Chemotherapy Certificate (CHEMO) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
• Critical Care Registered Nurse - Tele-ICU (CCRN-E) - Accredited Issuing Body
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (CEFM) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
• Neonatal Medical Certification (NEONATAL MED) - Accredited Issuing Body

Pay Range

$31.53 - $52.24
