Overview:
Local electrical company urgently seeks Industrial Electrical experience. Family owned and operated for over 30 years, recently recognized as one of the nation’s top workplaces (Orlando Sentinel’s 2024 Top Workplaces award). We are a commercial and industrial electrical contractor performing heavy industrial electrical, highway lighting, traffic signalization projects, and more. We work with corporate and government clients and maintain annual contracts with Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Volusia counties, and the Florida Department of Transportation.
A second location in St. Augustine to serve Jacksonville and surrounding areas is forthcoming.
Travel and night work may be required; must be able to work out of town and at night on occasion.
Responsibilities- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical/electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems and correct breakdowns using test equipment and hand tools.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.
- Advise management on hazardous equipment operation.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 3+ years of industrial electrical experience.
- Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
- Ability to follow instructions thoroughly.
- Understanding of team members’ needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team‑work ability.
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Proficiency in blueprint reading.
- Understanding of one‑line diagrams and PLCs.
- Class A CDL (preferred).
- Highway lighting experience (preferred).
- Wastewater and water treatment plant experience (preferred).
