Position: Medical Assistant (Outpatient) - Full Time (Temporary), AHMO Orange Cove

Lying just inland between the State's coastal mountain ranges and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Adventist Health Reedley has been serving the Central Valley since 2011. We are comprised of a 49-bed acute care hospital and 60 clinics in 27 rural communities with primary and specialty care services. Reedley is a perfect location for outdoor enthusiasts as it is located in the central San Joaquin Valley portion of California, close to Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

Job Summary:

Performs non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse midwife.

Education and

Work Experience:
  • High School Education/GED or equivalent:
    Required
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or equivalent combination of licensure and experience:
    Preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification:
    Required
  • Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP within six months of hire.:
    Preferred
  • Phlebotomy certificate:
    Preferred
Essential Functions:
  • Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients. Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers.
  • Obtains vital signs. Reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician.
  • Performs venipunctures as ordered.
  • Performs audiometry and vision testing.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
