- 24-hour cardiothoracic surgery call coverage
- Weekday and weekend coverage based on the monthly schedule
- Must respond by phone within 15 minutes during assigned call coverage
- Must be able to present to the hospital within 30 minutes when required
- Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Active unrestricted Florida license or eligibility for Florida licensure
- BLS, ACLS
- Current DEA registration, as applicable
- Surgical first-assist support for adult cardiothoracic procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic procedures, and thoracic procedures
- Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH), including saphenous vein conduit harvesting for CABG, or ability to demonstrate competency
- Patient volume: 30
- EMR:
Meditech, Patient Keeper, eCW - Provider will support the hospital-based cardiothoracic surgery service
- Emergency call coverage, inpatient consultations, emergency department consultations, and operative coverage
- Evaluate and manage postoperative patients
- Provide inpatient consultations
- Remain available for emergent consultations and operative cases throughout assigned 24-hour call periods
- Coverage includes collaboration with Trauma Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care/Intensivists, and Radiology as appropriate
