Senior Construction Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Senior Construction Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $75,000 to $95,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare project cost packages and perform margin analysis in collaboration with the construction team
• Oversee journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Serve as project lead and ensure proper documentation and preparation of related entries
• Participate in quarterly reviews, year-end audits, and SOX audits by preparing support schedules
• Contribute to internal and external reporting processes including financial packages and SEC filings

Requirements:

• Understand mathematical concepts including ratios, percentages, and statistical inference
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills across various business contexts
• Solve practical problems and determine tax compliance requirements independently
• Use Microsoft Office applications with advanced proficiency, especially Excel
• Apply knowledge of payroll systems, HR systems, and internet tools effectively

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 6+ years of relevant experience
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper booking of revenues, costs, and accruals
• Adhere to internal controls and contribute to SOX 404 compliance
• Submit recommendations to improve the close process and develop accounting policies
• Prefer Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
