Position overview

Salary range:
Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation depending on specialty can range from $506,950-$528,682. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step s position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position description

The University of California, Irvine, Department of Medicine, Mary & Steve Wen Cardiovascular Division, is searching for a full-time Interventional Cardiologist in the Professor of Clinical Medicine Series or the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series, at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank to join our team.

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include a mix of inpatient and outpatient care at our Orange or Irvine medical center. These responsibilities will include inpatient consultation/Cardiac Care Unit service and Cardiac Catheterization Lab coverage. Outpatient clinic will be at our Orange, Irvine, outreach or community practice site(s). We especially welcome applicants with an interest in clinical and translational research, innovation and experience in structural heart intervention, peripheral vascular intervention or sub-specialization in chronic total occlusion work.

Applicants who can help support research/innovation programs and advance the clinical, educational, research and innovation goals of the division are encouraged to apply.

Criteria
  • Professor of Clinical "X" Series:
    The incumbent will be expected to conduct substantial research; provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and university service. Excellent teaching is essential.
  • Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series:
    The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and university service.
Qualifications

Prior to the start of employment, an individual must possess the following qualifications:

  • MD or DO
  • Board certified or eligible in cardiology and interventional cardiology or equivalent
  • Hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the state of California
