Assistant Engineer

Job Overview

Assistant Engineer in the Transportation Department at Wood Rodgers, Inc., Orange, CA. Hourly pay $30.00 – $42.00. This is a non‑exempt, hourly position.

• Prepare engineering analysis, designs, calculations, and cost estimates for roadway systems and related transportation structures.
• Assist with layout and drafting of drawings using AutoCAD, Civil3D, and other computer‑based design systems.
• Prepare technical specifications, proposals, and reports.
• Participate in proposal and report writing and other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
• 0 to 4 years of experience performing the essential duties listed above.
• Willingness to learn, grow, innovate, and be mentored.
• Knowledge of Civil Engineering principles and practices.
• Skilled in the use of AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• E.I.T. Certification; or ability to obtain it within 6 months.
• Ability to gather, organize, and analyze engineering data.
• Capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of an engineering team.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
