Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Practice Builder to expand our Aviation practice in Orange, California (CA)!

Overview

As a Practice Builder, you will lead and grow the Aviation team, building and managing relationships with key clients while developing the practice into a profitable line of business.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and expand an Aviation team and practice while building and managing relationships with key clients.
  • Review design documents & drawings for airside and landside Aviation projects, including grading, drainage, pavement design, specifications, and construction safety plans.
  • Prepare analysis reports in support of airport planning, design, and construction.
  • Operate with integrity and sound business principles.
  • Provide vision, business planning and strategy.
  • Establish goals.
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Communicate openly with partners and team.
  • Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor.
  • Enjoy autonomy to lead, direct, and grow your business.
  • Earn a significant bonus program and potential ownership.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of relevant experience managing airport design and construction projects.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Strong technical skills with AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Business development and marketing experience writing proposals, scopes, and budgets.
  • Effective communication at all levels.
  • Ability to manage & mentor staff and direct resources positively.
  • Proven ability to manage land development projects profitably.
Base Salary Range
  • $150,000 - $260,000
  • Eligible for performance‑based bonus compensation.
