- Participate in data entry, test results documentation, and report creation.
- Learn how forging and heat‑treatment processes affect material properties.
- Help monitor and maintain records for heat‑treat cycles, furnace charts, and process documentation.
- Assist with root‑cause investigations under supervision (e.g., mechanical test failures, grain structure issues).
- Gather technical data from the forge shop and heat‑treat areas for process control.
- Support quality and engineering teams during audits and review of procedures.
- Learn industry standards (AMS, MIL, ASTM) and help ensure compliance under supervision.
- Contribute to continuous improvement.
- Technical training, coursework, or degree in one of the following:
Materials Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Welding Technology, Industrial Technology, Physics or Chemistry with materials‑related coursework, or a related technical/engineering field. - Strong interest in metallurgy, heat treatment, and material properties.
- Basic understanding of metals, microstructures, or mechanical properties (classroom level is fine).
- Willingness to learn in both a lab and industrial shop‑floor environment.
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Office; ability to learn data systems).
- Attention to detail, good documentation habits, and safety awareness.
- Experience from school labs (metallography, tensile testing, hardness testing, microscopy).
- Familiarity with engineering drawings or material specifications.
- Any exposure to forging, heat treat, machining, or manufacturing environments.
- Combination of office, lab, and forge shop floor.
- Must be comfortable around industrial equipment, furnaces, and shop environments (PPE provided).
- Standard Monday–Friday schedule.
- A rare opportunity to start a metallurgical career right out of school.
- Hands‑on exposure to forging, heat treatment, testing, and materials analysis.
- Work in a family‑owned and operated company with nearly 100 years of forging expertise.
- Your work directly supports aerospace, defense, and high‑performance industries.
Please submit your resume and a brief note describing:
- Your education / training
- Relevant coursework or labs
