Your Role on the TeamResponsible for managing all fiscal operations within the Department of Radiology, including budgeting, financial analysis, procurement, payroll, gift and restricted fund activity, and professional fee management. Provides both short- and long-term financial planning and analysis in a complex, multi-funding environment. Establishes and maintains robust financial control and reporting systems to ensure fiscal integrity and compliance.
Under the general direction of the Finance Manager, the incumbent oversees operational budget control, financial management processes, and faculty salary compensation to support departmental goals and strategic priorities.
What It Takes to be SuccessfulRequired:
- Working knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
- Ability to gather reasonably retrievable information to organize, and perform basic financial analysis assignments.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability using spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
- Interpersonal skills at all levels within the unit; excellent service orientation and critical thinking skills; attention to detail; ability to multi-task in a high volume environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to function as a member of a team.
- Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
- Strong computer skills using MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and good business practices.
- Demonstrated organization skills and ability to prioritize assignments when faced with heavy workload and competing deadlines.
- Proven ability to work independently and carry out assigned tasks reliably with minimal direction.
- Demonstrated skills to independently analyze situations, interpret data, define problems and/or objectives, identify relevant factors, and formulate logical conclusions and recommendations.
- Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of the campus community; professional communication.
- Demonstrated skill in handling detailed transactions through review and approval processes.
- Proficiency in English to read, understand and interpret complex documents, including University accounting policies and contract and grant regulations.
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to modify and/or adapt materials to create understandable technical information.
- Proficiency in computerized information systems to gather award, personnel and expenditure data from UCI online sources.
- Demonstrated experience working as a team member, offering services and requesting assistance as appropriate.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Demonstrated experience with UC fund accounting management, purchasing, and equipment management policies and practices.
- Bachelor s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of UCI Kuali Financial Systems, Decision Support, Tableau.
