Valuation NSW (VNSW) is actively seeking a Senior Audit and Compliance Officer to join our Privacy & Data team. This pivotal role involves conducting comprehensive audits of data sharing arrangements, internal processes, and controls to ensure compliance with legislated privacy obligations.

Responsibilities

You will play a vital role in developing and implementing audits to safeguard citizen information during the release of agency data. Additionally you will contribute to the design and delivery of frameworks to monitor ongoing compliance and audit activities.

The role also includes interpreting and communicating audit and monitoring results to enhance compliance, inform decision‑making, manage risk and identify trends, patterns and concerns.

About you
  • Strong background in auditing and monitoring of information management and privacy with a deep understanding of data privacy compliance best practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of compliance audit methodologies and experience in conducting privacy and data protection audits as well as establishing monitoring frameworks. A strong understanding of privacy laws, regulations and industry standards will be highly regarded.
  • Keen eye for detail and strong problem‑solving skills to identify and address privacy‑related issues or concerns.

Us

The Valuer General is an independent statutory officer appointed by the Governor of New South Wales to oversee the State’s land valuation system.

Valuation NSW (VNSW) is part of the Department of Planning Housing and Infrastructure and delivers the valuation system for rating and taxing as well as compulsory acquisition compensation purposes via delegation of the Valuer General of NSW.

Key responsibilities include making more than 2.7 million residential, rural, commercial and industrial valuations annually with a total value of approximately $3 trillion and managing compulsory acquisition determinations in situations where government cannot reach agreement totalling over $1 billion per annum. The organisation also delivers customer services and experience for 2.7 million landholders per annum, receives up to 50,000 calls and many more enquiries, and monitors assurance and governance pertaining to the quality of the valuations undertaken relevant to both the Valuation of Land Act 1916 and the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991.
