• Performs specimen processing and accessioning in the Referral Lab.
• Performs various types of specimen collection, phlebotomy (including mobile route) and drug test monitoring.
• Reviews lab reports and performs quality review and troubleshooting, resolving problems as they occur.
• Serves as member of laboratory client services team.
• May prepare specimens for testing, accessioning and packaging for dispatch to outside labs according to written protocols.

• Technical knowledge of lab procedures, functions and processes gained through education, experience or a combination of the two.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• State of California Phlebotomy License (Certified Phlebotomy Tech I).
• Must provide proof of vehicle insurance in compliance with UC policy.
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Employment contingent upon completion of satisfactory background investigation.
• Position is subject to the California DMV's "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.
• Current State of California Driver's License.
• Access to reliable, personal transportation in order to commute to and from various offsite locations.
• Ability to pass EKG competency test.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
