Position Summary:

The phlebotomist performs pre‑analytic phases of clinical specimen collection and preparation primarily in an outpatient setting but may be requested to work in other areas of the lab as needed.

• Technical knowledge of lab procedures, functions and processes gained through education, experience or a combination of the two.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• State of California Phlebotomy License (Certified Phlebotomy Tech I).
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

• Prefer one year of phlebotomy experience or completion of UCI phlebotomy program.
