Job Summary

The Clinical EHR Support Analyst is a vital member of the clinical team, serving as the technical and functional expert for the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, Epic. Under the direction of the Director of Operations and Clinic Manager, this role combines clinical care expertise with Health IT knowledge to support high-quality patient care across clinical operations including the Clinic, Infusion Center, Research, and Pharmacy.

The Clinical EHR Support Analyst is responsible for ensuring optimal performance and utilization of the Epic system through collaboration with end-users, leadership, external vendors, and internal stakeholders. This role involves identifying, assessing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues related to the use and function of the Epic system while possessing a deep understanding of EHR utilization and health center operations.

Key Responsibilities

Support Epic implementation and go-live transitions, including delivering deliverables, facilitating training schedules, and conducting user acceptance testing.

  • Serve as application expert by providing ongoing user training and support and completing user acceptance testing.
  • Contribute to system maintenance and optimization by completing and maintaining technical build within Epic.
  • Participate in training initiatives, create and update end-user documentation, and perform testing for system upgrades to ensure seamless integration, use, and performance.
  • Provide technical and functional support within Epic, addressing user inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and resolving problems.
  • Develop and maintain Smart Tools, preference lists, and provider records to streamline clinical documentation.
  • Manage complex demands from end-users, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, vendors, IT, and leadership to identify and resolve system issues and workflow optimization.
  • Conduct testing of new Epic features and upgrades prior to deployment, including user acceptance testing.
Essential Duties Implementation Phase

Serve as a key member of the implementation team, contributing to workflow analysis, project coordination, and site readiness activities.

Participate in Epic build activities including creating Epic users and provider records, setting up preference lists, fee schedules, letter templates, and supporting staff training sessions for Epic and aligned systems.

Collaborate with the contracted Health IT consulting partner on providing deliverables and assisting staff assigned to complete implementation deliverables.

Provide support for users with Ella (the learning management system), end-user training, go-live training, and dress rehearsal activities.

Technical Support and System Management

Provide technical and functional support within Epic, addressing user inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and resolving problems to ensure optimal system performance.

Create and maintain technical build within the Epic system including provider and end user record build, Smart Tool creation, and Preference List management.

Ensure utilization and performance of Smart Tools to streamline and standardize clinical documentation while aligning with organizational needs.

Training and Documentation

Develop and maintain up-to-date end-user documentation and training materials, ensuring that users have access to accurate information and resources to effectively utilize the Epic system.
