The Services On-Site Technician is responsible for first-response service, support, and availability of Client-managed printers and multi-functional devices across a designated customer site. This role focuses on customer service, device uptime, and rapid issue resolution, including service requests, supply replenishment, and basic installations. The technician will support a fleet of printers and related devices across a hospital campus, requiring extensive walking, standing, and occasional lifting.
The role involves hands‑on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and close interaction with customer staff to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Serve as first responder for printer service and supply requests
- Monitor device alerts and service queues to ensure SLA compliance
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance
- Conduct device setup, installation, moves, removals, and retrofits
- Perform basic IP address setup and printer driver installation
- Perform meter reads/captures for accurate billing
- Utilize remote support tools to resolve issues when possible
- Escalate unresolved issues to Level 2 or technical support teams
- Replenish and replace toner, consumables, and supplies
- Manage assigned parts, supplies, and asset inventories
- Monitor PAR levels and return unused or excess Client‑owned supplies
- Ensure accurate device and inventory records are maintained
- Provide in‑person customer service to office staff, IT teams, and operators
- Proactively communicate service status and resolution updates
- Provide basic user training on supported devices
- Maintain professional appearance and positive demeanor at all times
- Document all service activity using Client’s OFSC and customer systems
- Adhere to IMACD processes and timely status updates
- Follow all Client’s and customer safety and security protocols
- Complete all required administrative and reporting tasks accurately
- High School Diploma or equivalent (additional education preferred)
- Valid state driver’s license and required auto insurance
- In‑person customer service experience
- Basic PC, networking, and printer/copier operation knowledge
- Basic mechanical and technical aptitude
- Ability to follow established troubleshooting and service procedures
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and documentation
- IT Help Desk or hardware/application support experience
- Experience with electro‑mechanical devices and electronics
- Familiarity with printers, copiers, or managed print services
- Smart casual with comfortable shoes
- No jeans
Physical Requirements
- Extensive walking and standing across hospital campus
- Daily travel between buildings; occasional lifting and pushing equipment
- Ability to move wheeled equipment up to 400 lbs
- Carry tool cases up to 50 lbs, sometimes upstairs
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting
- Exposure to minor cuts, burns, solvents, and cleaning chemicals
- Work performed in varying indoor environments and weather conditions
- Shift work, overtime, standby, or on‑call may be required
- Extensive walking and on‑site presence required
- Assignment supports a hospital environment with multiple printer location
