The Nurse Practitioner II in the Department of Urology will provide comprehensive ambulatory care under the supervision of a physician. The role includes patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, education, monitoring of chronic stable medical conditions, and coordination of multidisciplinary care. The NP will maintain patient documentation, prepare progress notes, and communicate effectively with patients, referring physicians, and team members.
The position requires credentialing and privilege approval prior to the first working day.
- Accredited Nurse Practitioner program completion.
- Current, active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse license.
- Current, active, unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner license.
- Current, active, unrestricted Fulfilling Nurse license and DEA registration.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI) and NP National Board Certification (AGACNP‑BC or FNP).
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- At least 6 months of NP experience; urology ambulatory clinical experience preferred; oncology experience a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to obtain UCI medical staff privileges and maintain effective interprofessional relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to provide clear medical reports and patient education.
- Adherence to privacy, confidentiality, and security policies regarding PHI.
