Travel RN - Telemetry - ER - Hold

American Traveler is seeking an RN Bed Placement Coordinator with CPI Blue Card certification and EPIC experience for a day-shift role coordinating hospital-wide bed placement and patient flow.

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• CPI Blue Card from the Crisis Prevention Institute required in-hand (MAB or online CPI Blue not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• Specialty unit experience requires at least 1 year full-time equivalent experience within the past 2 years
• EPIC experience required and must be reflected in work history
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Two supervisor references required

• Bed Placement Coordinator role within a hospital's capacity management function
• Facilitates bed assignments for intra- and inter-facility admissions and transfers
• Coordinates with nursing units, case management, physicians, and other departments for timely transitions of care
• Monitors patient census and bed availability to resolve placement delays and discharge barriers
• Serves as liaison between ED, peri-op, inpatient units, capacity management, operations, physicians, and case managers
• Prioritizes high-acuity patients and resolves placement conflicts to optimize bed utilization
• 3x12-hour day shifts, Sunday-Saturday rotation, 7:00-19:30
• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Float required between UCI facilities
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Supervises nursing care delivery across all organizational units
• Applies clinical knowledge across ICU, new admissions, post-procedure, post-surgery, and transfer-to-higher-level-care scenarios
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Prior travel experience required to apply, with exceptions noted in some postings
• Returning staff must have been gone a minimum of 1 year to be eligible as a traveler
• No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract is highly preferred
