American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 40-bed unit with a 1:5 ratio, requiring CA licensure and EPIC experience.

• 40-bed medical-surgical/telemetry unit
• 1:5 RN-to-patient ratio
• Patient population includes post-surgical patients such as trauma, plastic, and vascular surgery cases
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Fast-paced environment with a cohesive and collaborative nursing team

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care setting required
• Minimum 1 year full-time equivalent experience in the specialty area within the past 2 years required
• BLS certification required
• Central line and port certification preferred
• CMSRN certification preferred
• CPI Blue Card preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required and must be noted in work history
• Two supervisor references required at time of application
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, and wound care
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Experience managing cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response situations
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE protocols

• Provide direct care to post-surgical and medical-surgical patients in a fast-paced teaching hospital environment
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Collaborate within a supportive and cohesive nursing team
• Prior travel experience required unless otherwise noted
• Candidates previously employed by the facility must disclose this at time of application and may require additional approval
• Must not have been separated from previous employment at the facility for less than 1 year to be considered as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract highly preferred
• RTO requests must be confirmed and finalized prior to submission
