American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of experience and active CA licensure.

• Work in a 40-bed medical-surgical/telemetry unit
• Patient ratio of 1:5 RN-to-patient
• Patient population includes post-surgical patients, including trauma, plastic, and vascular surgery cases
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Highly collaborative and supportive nursing team environment

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty area within the past two years required
• BLS certification required
• Central line and port certification preferred
• CMSRN certification preferred
• CPI Blue Card from the Crisis Prevention Institute required for ER and Float Pool nurses
• EPIC EMR experience required and must be reflected in work history
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Two supervisor references required at time of application

• Provide direct patient care for post-surgical, orthopedic, neurological, and respiratory patients
• Skills utilized may include IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, wound care, tracheostomy care, and cardiac monitoring
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE protocols expected
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days of RTO preferred per 13-week contract
