Job Overview

The Front of House Supervisor supports the management team in delivering friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable guest service that consistently goes above and beyond. This position is a step before our Management Training, offering a chance to learn the business and grow your career.

Essential Job Functions
  • Complete opening duties to standard
  • Record all necessary information/messages in legible writing
  • Seat guests as reserved or walk‑in promptly and courteously, accommodating special requests
  • Ensure transfer of guest checks from bartenders and cocktail servers to dining room servers
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests even when busy
  • Interact in courteous and professional manner with guests, supervisors, and co‑workers
  • Resolve guest complaints in a calm and constructive manner
  • Follow manager’s instructions
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of guest restrooms
  • Guide assistants to ensure optimum service
  • Complete all closing reports and leave duty after notifying manager
  • Legibly document orders when point‑of‑sale system is inoperative
  • Complete comps or voids as needed during shift
  • Follow maintenance program and cleaning schedule
  • Update menus and wine lists for managers
  • Notify management of any pertinent shift information
Essential Qualifications
  • Minimum age 21 to serve alcoholic beverages
  • High school graduate or some college
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Food Handlers Card
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills
  • Basic math calculation ability
  • Well organized, able to maintain concentration and clear thinking under stress
  • Ability to suggestively sell menu items and beverages
  • Calm conversation skills with irate guests and coworkers in tense situations
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Team player able to work cohesively with co‑workers
  • Complete knowledge of front‑of‑house standards
  • Correct maintenance and use of food serving/preparation equipment
  • Experience with point‑of‑sale procedures
