About the Role

Join the Newport Healthcare team as a Satellite Cook, creating nutritious and delicious meals for residents, families, and guests. Your culinary creations will enhance the dining experience while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

• Open and close the kitchen, preparing the workspace for daily operations.
• Prepare and serve breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks, ensuring a high-quality dining experience.
• Plan and create dishes for special events and parent weekends.
• Develop healthy, nutritious, and organic meals that meet residents’ dietary needs.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including refrigerators, freezers, ovens, floors, and dishware.
• Adhere to state health and hygiene standards and Newport Healthcare’s internal policies.
• Build positive connections with residents, making mealtimes a highlight of their day.
• Coordinate with programming schedules to adjust meal plans as needed.
• Engage with parents and guests, providing a welcoming and hospitable environment.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff on baking and cooking projects, sharing ideas and learning new skills.

• Food safety certificate (state, county, or Serv Safe) required within 30 days of hire.
• 1.5 to 3 years of experience in kitchen settings with basic food‑prep and cooking skills.
• Strong culinary creativity, organizational, and communication abilities.

$22.66 – $28.85 per hour, depending on education and experience.
