Job Description
The Southern California Electrician is a licensed professional responsible for multi‑site management of all low‑voltage, structure cabling, electrical system installation, troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance for all H&S C‑store retail sites and fueling locations spanning across Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego. The Electrician will have excellent customer service capabilities, clear communication and reliably work independently in the field performing routine service calls and ensuring compliance with NEC, OSHA, and hazardous location standards.
Strong regulatory compliance, inventory management, and technical documentation.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems at retail C‑store and fuel sites.
- Pull wire, punch terminate cables, and splice according to code.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical issues with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Perform routine service calls and preventive maintenance to ensure uptime and safety.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documents.
- Support control systems and low‑voltage wiring, including PLC systems.
- Understand refrigeration cycles and related electrical systems.
- Document all service and repair work with strong compliance practices.
- Maintain professional communication with operations and site managers.
- Travel daily across Southern California regions (80–100% travel).
- Maintains organized and compliant driver qualification files.
- Active California (DIR) Certified Electrician C‑10 Electrical License in good standing.
- Must complete 32 hours of continuing education every 3 years.
- Minimum 3 years of electrician experience (residential, industrial, and commercial).
- Multi‑site commercial experience required; gas / oil C‑store experience a plus.
- Experience in the fuel or petroleum industry is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations.
- At least 5 years’ experience with low‑voltage, control systems, and PLC troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated Class I Div II hazardous location experience.
- Knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and compliance documentation standards.
- Licensed, with advanced certifications; able to train others and enforce compliance.
- Strong work ethic, passion for the electrical trade, and commitment to ongoing learning.
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in the field.
- Owns hand tools and able to lift / carry heavy equipment.
- Clean DMV record (minimum 2 years in good standing).
- Strong communication skills, professional appearance, and customer service orientation.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong organizational and record‑keeping skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
