Job Summary

The Senior Analyst - Production Control role ensures smooth execution of batch processes across multiple environments using scheduling tools such as Control‑M, UC4 (Automic), and Autosys. The analyst monitors job performance, resolves failures, supports automation initiatives, and manages business‑critical workflows. Collaboration with IT teams, compliance maintenance, and continuous improvement are essential to keeping batch processes efficient and reliable, ultimately contributing to overall operational success.

This position reports to the Manager – IT Production Control and requires strong scripting capabilities and familiarity with modern reporting and monitoring tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule, execute, and monitor batch jobs using Control‑M, UC4, and Autosys.
  • Ensure nightly completion of critical batch jobs and meet performance metrics.
  • Maintain consistency across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Monitor system health and job performance; generate status and performance reports.
  • Develop workflows to meet business needs and integrate with applications (e.g., SAP, ERP).
  • Execute SAP transports and automate tasks using scripting (bash, batch).
  • Implement changes related to report distribution software.
  • Provide advanced technical assistance to application and operations teams.
  • Identify root causes of failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Train users and support scheduling tool functionalities.
  • Maintain compliance documentation and support audits.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Power Shell, and Ansible.
  • Participate in disaster recovery exercises and incident/change/problem management.
  • Generate operational and performance dashboards using Kibana, Power BI, Service Now, and Elastic.
  • Manage scheduling tool configurations, user access, and security.
  • Maintain integrity of production JCL libraries and implement test JCL.
  • Perform upgrades, patches, and transports of job definitions.
  • Maintain documentation for schedules, processes, and procedures.
  • Assume department responsibilities in the manager’s absence.
  • Plan for system outages and maintain batch calendars.
  • Support off‑hours scheduling and occasional weekend work.
  • On‑call availability and shift work as required (starting as early as 5:30 AM EST).
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Prior experience with Autosys, CA Automic (UC4), Control‑M, or Stonebranch.
  • Experience working with Unix/AIX/Wintel systems, IBM utilities, and scripting (Shell, Python, Power Shell, and Ansible) for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with SAP and job scheduling tools.
  • Working knowledge of Service Now for ITSM processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with FTP/SFTP, encryption, Amazon S3, and cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.
  • Certification in Control‑M or related technologies and migration experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Control‑M, UC4, or Autosys operator or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of batch scheduling concepts and job management.
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, UNIX/Linux) and database management.
  • Exposure to automation frameworks and Dev Ops practices.
