Job SummaryThe Manager of Gas Performance & Innovation drives continuous improvement across Gas Engineering and Operations by standardizing metrics review processes, aligning key performance indicators (KPIs) with strategic business goals, and utilizing traditional and non-traditional approaches to implement innovative solutions that positively impact company performance and regulatory metric outcomes. This position leads the Gas Operational Performance team in conducting process assessments, developing performance tracking strategies, and producing actionable insights through dashboards, data analytics, AI utilization, application development, and implementation of a variety of innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for the accuracy, relevance, and continued strategic development of the Gas Engineering and Operations Power BI Hub, ensuring dashboards and visual reports are created in a useful, meaningful, and timely fashion.
- Leads Operational Performance team in the quantification of potential risks and provides recommendations for mitigation and improvement through analysis of technical, operational, and financial data.
- Ensures KPIs and targets are set. Drives prioritization throughout the business to improve operational performance by orchestrating and engaging in KPI alignment discussions with Gas Engineering and Operations management.
- Initiates, plans, and leads recurring proactive meetings with internal and external stakeholders to improve work processes across the business, including coordinating the Gas Engineering and Operations Work Plan meeting.
- Standardizes the performance review process and steers the organization toward implementation of realized areas for improvement.
- Identifies, researches, tests, and influences new technologies and automations to enhance productivity, efficiency, and overall performance outcomes.
- Develops and administers performance metrics tracking strategy and regularly reports status to the Director – Gas Compliance and Operational Performance.
- Provides input to the Gas Compliance, PSMS, and Enhanced QA/QC groups utilizing information obtained via dashboards or ad hoc business needs.
- Establishes the Operational Performance team’s goals and workplans and monitors/assesses performance on a consistent basis.
- Directs and deploys proactive self-assessments based on established performance indicators and identifies areas where additional assessments are needed.
- Coordinates and approves reporting to all leadership, particularly on issues with potential impacts to Gas Business.
- Defines controls, assessments, and documentation of overall Operational Performance program effectiveness.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience and passion for working across functions and with business leaders, synthesizing multiple points of view and owning a coherent action plan, all while negotiating and influencing others.
- Ability to lead teams and work in a team environment.
- Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
- Ability to assist and develop employees.
- Understanding of Natural Gas Industry or similar regulated industry.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Public presentation skills and ability to summarize concepts presented accordingly.
- Results oriented.
- Data analytics and related tools knowledge.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years total professional experience.
- Experience with Performance Operational/Metrics.
- Experience with reporting and tracking deadlines when working across different departments.
- Power BI, SAP, and advanced Excel skills.
- Master’s Degree
