The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a critical role in the Alterations department, ensuring the successful completion of tasks that contribute to superior customer service. The CSR provides an A+ customer experience, reports to the Store Manager, and is responsible for welcoming and servicing customers, making appointments, answering phones, pressing garments, and ensuring that items are ready for pickup.

Essential Job Functions
  • Welcome all customers with genuine enthusiasm over the phone, virtual chats, and in person, communicating clearly and problem solving.
  • Use all systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five‑star customer experience.
  • Meet all service vows:
    Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs & Be There for every customer, meeting operational checklists and emotional needs.
  • Provide exceptional service to multiple customers at once, proactively addressing concerns and escalating when necessary.
  • Promote alterations services and personalization options, communicating how they enhance an event dress.
  • Maintain store standards—clean, organized, promotional readiness—to support a flawless shopping experience.
  • Greet and escort alterations customers for appointments.
  • Press, steam, and spot clean all merchandise, following quality control guidelines.
  • Build long‑term relationships to exceed customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Support inventory management through special orders, pick‑ups, and first‑quality standards.
  • Process transactions accurately at the cash wrap.
  • Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager for unresolved customer issues.
  • Maintain a clean, well‑organized alterations room.
  • Perform duties and tasks as assigned by store management.
Physical Demands
  • Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
  • Manipulate tools, POS terminals, and computers; sew and perform fittings per company standards.
  • Lift or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Perform visual tasks and use peripheral vision for up to long periods.
Education & Credentials
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
  • Prior sewing experience is helpful.
  • Prior experience with a computerized POS system.
