Heavy Motor Equipment Operator/ Laborer (2 positions)Pay Range: $26.15 - $32.62 per hour.
The City of Attleboro Department of Public Works is seeking a Heavy Motor Equipment Operator/Laborer to operate heavy equipment with a rated capacity of up to nine (9) tons for road maintenance, construction, and snow and ice removal.
Essential Duties- Operate trucks, tractors, road sweepers, snow and leaf loaders, snow fighters, rollers, road flushers, and other heavy equipment.
- Plow and sand roads and participate in the City's Snow and Ice Program.
- Perform routine road and property maintenance, including mowing, brush cutting, cleaning catch basins and ditches, patching asphalt and concrete, and repairing signs.
- Load, unload, haul, and transport materials and personnel.
- Paint road lines and crosswalks and perform general road and grounds maintenance.
- Perform minor equipment maintenance, including cleaning, fueling, greasing, and changing tires.
- Perform manual labor and other related duties as required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two (2) years of experience performing manual labor and operating heavy equipment required.
- Valid CDL Class B with Air Brakes endorsement required and must be maintained.
40 hours per week | Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Hours are subject to change or extension, particularly during inclement weather.
