Job Summary
This position is responsible for leading the operations of the grooming salon, achieving targeted goals and driving results to grow the business. This includes overseeing daily operations of the salon, training and coaching staff, and providing exceptional customer service to all pet parents and their dogs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
As a Salon Leader, you must be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented, able to fulfill the following requirements:
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Support selling initiatives (TEAM):
- Thank the Customer
- Engage with the customer and/or pet
- Advise on products or services
- Make it Memorable
- Perform daily duties such as managing salon operations, safety checks, audits, and ensuring SOP and cleanliness standards are met.
- Order supplies within the budget, assist in hiring and onboarding groomers, and communicate with the team and Store Manager.
- Drive salon growth through customer engagement, community events, and partnerships.
- Lead and coach team members, review performance metrics, and ensure professional grooming services are provided.
- Ensure safety and well-being of animals, maintain records, and operate equipment safely.
- Enforce salon policies and perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum 2+ years in grooming pet industry, supervisory experience preferred. Must be comfortable working with dogs and cats, and provide own grooming tools or be willing to purchase them.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to read, write, and count accurately.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities
Operate grooming tools, communicate effectively, demonstrate compassion, attention to detail, problem-solving, computer skills, and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions
Indoor environment, exposure to wet conditions, animals, and grooming equipment. Shifts vary, typically no less than 4 hours, possibly exceeding 8 hours.
Physical Requirements
Must be physically capable of moving quickly and safely, handling animals and equipment up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and performing grooming tasks.
