Electrician Helper

Overview

Electrician Helper role at PCL Construction in Orange, Texas (Job Number: 037237). Salary $27.00 per shift on a 5x10 schedule. Must pass the PCL craft test.

• Assist Journeyman and work closely with other crafts as needed.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Use hand and power tools safely.
• Work around hazardous wiring.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using rulers, hand tools, and power tools.
• Splice wires using hand tools, soldering equipment, tape or terminal gaps.
• Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools.
• Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.
• Unwind and pull cable.
• Connect power cable to equipment using hand tools.
• Test the installed equipment for safety and electrical compatibility.
• Climb vertical ladders and work above ground as necessary.

• Experience in industrial electrical industry (petrochemical, power plant, cement plant) or related field, 37–47 months as an electrician.
• Strong math knowledge.
• Ensure electrical installation follows current applicable codes.
• Knowledge of the national electrical code.
• Pass pre‑employment job requirements.
