Summary/ Objective
The Vacuum Truck Operator will perform a wide range of physical activities that require strength and flexibility for handling, positioning, moving and manipulating equipment and materials, and will drive and operate efficiently and safely all power equipment and vehicles in accordance with DOT laws and regulations.
Responsibilities- Operate and set up all necessary equipment in accordance with operation training, guidelines and safety procedures.
- Adhere to all safety policies and practices, including personal protective gear.
- Work safely around heavy machinery in loud, hazardous, and industrial settings.
- Manually clean, install, fit repair valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets, and all other external and internal equipment.
- Assist in general maintenance of company equipment, service, grease, etc.
- Wash and clean company equipment – pressure wash, clean cabs, etc.
- General housekeeping – sweeping floors, taking out trash, keeping work areas clean and organized.
- Help with future job load outs or unloads from previous jobs – return equipment and PPE to designated areas.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience behind an 18‑wheeler.
- Valid Class A or B CDL.
- TANKER endorsement.
- No restrictions; must be authorized to drive a manual transmission truck.
- Valid TWIC card or willing to obtain one.
- Pass pre‑employment drug screen (hair follicle and urine).
- Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate or willing to obtain one.
- Pass a personal background screen.
- Pass an MVR background screen.
- Travel for extended periods.
- Willing to respond to emergency calls 24/7 as needed.
- Willing to perform all required job duties in accordance with training and standard operating procedures.
- Willing to understand and follow all given directions.
- Physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities assigned.
- Lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Stand and/or walk continuously for long periods.
- Climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel as needed.
- Work in all inclement weather conditions.
