DOT Driver role at TAS Environmental Services, L.P. TAS Environmental Services is a leading regional provider of Emergency Response Services, Industrial Cleaning, Waste Management and Midstream Services and Solutions. TAS Environmental Services operates 24/7, every day of the year, to provide environmental solutions from industrial cleaning to emergency response and hazardous waste transportation.
Responsibilities- Conduct pre-trip inspections of mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment
- Display consistent attention to safety in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations
- Collect delivery instructions from dispatcher, verifying instructions and routes
- Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations
- Report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
- Drive trucks to weigh stations to document weights and to comply with state regulations
- Transport non-hazardous and hazardous materials in accordance with applicable guidelines, DOT, and company safety procedures
- Handle various products, hazardous and non-hazardous materials
- Perform industrial work and biohazard cleanups
- Stage, profile, and process for disposal hazardous and non-hazardous waste
- Assist in the removal of soil, debris, and other materials, and cleaning up spill sites
- Operate and clean equipment
- Other duties as assigned
- CDL Class A license with the ability to attain a Hazmat endorsement
- 2-5 years truck driving experience
- HAZWOPER and Confined Space
- TWIC Card preferred
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 60 pounds. Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders. May occasionally deal with heights. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees and managers.
Effective conflict resolution abilities. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form. Ability to read, write and do mathematics. Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection. The job involves both office work and physical jobsite environments. Ability to work in confined spaces when needed.
