Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator - Part Time

Base pay range: $17.00/hr - $23.00/hr

We are seeking a part-time Treatment Coordinator to join our dental team in Orangeburg, SC. The Treatment Coordinator is an important face and representative of our team. A Treatment Coordinator's main objectives are to schedule appointments with interested individuals receiving orthodontic care, work with doctors to communicate treatment plans, help patients afford treatment, and provide exceptional customer service so patients feel supported on their smile journey.

This position is part-time (2-3 days per week) and requires SC X-ray certification.

• Obtain high treatment acceptance by explaining the cost of treatment, insurance coverage, and financing options
• Patient communication and education: explain treatment plans and timeline to patients and families in clear terms; address concerns and answer questions
• Financial coordination: present financing options and assist patients with affording care; educate patients on insurance coverage and payment options; ensure timely payment collection and manage outstanding balances
• Administrative duties: schedule and confirm appointments; maintain detailed patient records; submit paperwork to insurance
• Technical assistance: operate X-ray machines and assist with clinical tasks when required (if certified)
• Solicit referrals from patients post-treatment and track satisfaction with services provided
• Maintain high integrity by adhering to government regulations, company standards, and compliance programs
• Other duties as assigned

Education/

Experience:

• High School diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 1 year orthodontic or equivalent experience required

Required or Specialized

Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous sales experience; comfortable discussing costs and payment plans with patients
• Responsive to patients (follow-up with patients, answer questions)
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Understand and effectively communicate orthodontic techniques

Preferred

Skills:

• Experience as a Treatment Coordinator in a dental practice (ideally 3+ years in dental/orthodontic environment)
• 3+ years of sales or customer service experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of dental insurances, payment financing, and self-pay collections
• X-Ray certification and CPR certification
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, parents, clinicians, and staff
• Operate a computer, keyboard, and standard office equipment
• Lift/carry up to 30 lbs; be able to twist, turn, bend, and stoop

The majority of work is performed in a clinical environment and may require extended hours during peak periods. Work hours may change to meet business needs.
