Job Description Summary
The Pharmacy Technician (I, II, III or IV) reports to the Pharmacy Coordinator. Under general supervision, the Pharmacy Technician I supports the drug distribution activities of the Department of Pharmacy Services.

Work Shift Responsibilities- The Pharmacy Technician (I, II, III or IV) reports to the Pharmacy Coordinator. Under general supervision, the Pharmacy Technician I supports the drug distribution activities of the Department of Pharmacy Services.
Education: High School Degree or Equivalent
Work Experience: 0-6 months
Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP) is required and must be maintained. Must obtain and maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT):
- Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 1 year of 11/1/2023.
- New Team members as of 11/1/2023: within 6 months of hire.
- New team members who are enrolled or will enroll in a ASHP-accredited and/or PTCB-recognized pharmacy technician training program have 30 days post program completion to obtain certification.
Ability to perform job functions while standing (Continuous); while sitting (Continuous); while walking (Continuous); climb stairs (Infrequent); work indoors (Continuous); work outside in temperature extremes (Infrequent); work from elevated areas (Frequent); work in confined/cramped spaces (Frequent); kneeling (Infrequent); bend at the waist (Continuous); twist at the waist (Frequent); squat and perform job functions (Frequent); perform "pinching" operations (Frequent); profile motor/fine manipulation with fingers and hands (Continuous);
maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one or both eyes (Continuous); detect colors and depth (Continuous); maintain hearing acuity (Continuous); perform gross and fine motor movements (Continuous); work rotating shifts (Frequent); work overtime as required (Frequent); work in a latex safe environment (Continuous); maintain tactile sensory functions (Continuous); maintain olfactory sensory function (Continuous) in selected positions; be qualified physically for respirator use initially and as required (Continuous).
