American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for night shifts at an acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital with 286 staffed beds
• New unit currently operating with 18 beds
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:45p-7:15a
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Every other weekend work required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Uses bedside monitors with telemetry, BP, and pulse ox capabilities
• Charting performed in Epic

• Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand prior to start
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• MS/Tele and telemetry experience required, including interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience monitoring telemetry on the unit required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred

• Provide cardiac telemetry monitoring and emergency response for medical-surgical patients
• Manage and interpret dysrhythmias as part of daily patient care
• Perform isolation precautions/PPE, respiratory care, oxygen administration via nasal cannula, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Support patients with renal failure as needed
• Charge responsibilities are split between stepdown and 3 west units
• No off-shift management on-site, though leadership is available by phone
• 24/7 house supervisor coverage provided
• Royal blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate
• Candidates must reside within a 60-mile radius, with non-local candidates prioritized
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for review
• Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September)
