Excavator​/Trackhoe Operator

Job Summary:

* The Excavator Operator's primary function is to operate an Excavator at the site of work to construct, maintain, or repair highway, heavy civil, or building type structures; equipment operators are also expected to assist in other duties around the jobsite as needed

* Operates a Excavator to complete tasks such as digging, excavating, and move and/or transport materials such as dirt, rocks, and other types of aggregate

* Must have knowledge of operating procedures as it pertains to loading and unloading materials

* May oil, grease, service, and make normal maintenance adjustments on equipment; perform daily safety and maintenance checks; complete paperwork and other documentation as needed

Essential Functions, skills and abilities:

* Operate heavy, motorized equipment.

* Perform a variety of skilled construction and maintenance tasks.

* Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods in unfavorable weather conditions.

* Work independently in the absence of supervision.

* Understand and follow oral and written instructions.

* Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

* Ensure adherence to safe work practices.

* Follow safety regulations and remove and minimize potential hazards.

* Perform routine maintenance and ensure any needed repairs are made.

* Report complex mechanical problems for shop repairs.
