Registered Nurse - Part Time Level 2 (Emergency)

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to work with our Emergency Department and help us continue our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork.

• The successful applicant will perform the duties expected of a Registered Nurse within the Emergency Department.
• The Registered Nurse is accountable and responsible for the provision of general and specialized nursing duties and work assignments on a daily basis according to the standards of Nursing Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario, and approved standards of care of the Corporation.

• Available for fifty‑two (52) weeks per year minus vacation entitlement.
• Can be pre‑scheduled a minimum of 33.75 hours per month, which includes 1 weekend.
• Available to work either Christmas or New Year’s period.
• Available to be pre‑scheduled a minimum of 45 hours per month from June to September and must include a minimum of 1 weekend per month.
• Submits additional availability as prescribed by the Hospital.

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• BScN degree preferred, minimum completion of Diploma in Nursing.
• 1–2 years recent Emergency Department experience (preference will be given to those with Emergency Department experience).
• Current ACLS, BCLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (or equivalent).
• Current NENA CTAS certification and experience or proof of completion within twelve (12) months of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or willingness to complete within six (6) months of hire.
• Coronary Care Level 1 (or willingness to complete within six (6) months of hire).
• Coronary Care Level 2 (or willingness to complete within twelve (12) months of hire).
• Current Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification preferred.
• Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB) or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with pediatric nursing assessment is preferred.
• Critical Care or Emergency Department courses preferred.
• CNA Emergency Nursing Certification preferred.
• Competency in peripheral venous access initiation and maintenance of parenteral therapy preferred.
• Experience with mechanical ventilation preferred.
• Experience with Meditech Expanse documentation preferred.
• Internal Medical Directives certification to be completed within six (6) months of hire.
• Ability to work independently under medical directives.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Demonstrated critical‑thinking decision‑making skills.
• Acceptable performance and attendance records.

$40.24 - $57.68 per hour (must not exceed $58.44 per hour).
