Social Worker at Westside Secondary School

Join the UGDSB as a Social Worker and Attendance Counsellor at Westside Secondary School. This full-time role focuses on delivering evidence-based interventions to support students and families.

In this position, you will engage students and families to foster trusting relationships while applying various clinical modalities, including CBT and trauma-informed practices. With a commitment to student mental health, you will conduct assessments, monitor caseloads, and participate in system committees. Collaboration within the community and attendance management is key to helping students succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide evidence-based social work interventions remotely and in-person

• Conduct assessments and manage casework effectively

• Develop and facilitate group clinical interventions

• Handle crisis interventions and VTRA responsibilities

• Maintain accurate documentation per regulatory standards

Requirements:

• Master of Social Work (MSW) registered with Ontario College

• 3-5 years experience in a similar setting

• Expertise with youth exhibiting behavioral issues

• Reliable transportation to various schools

• Knowledge of local service agencies
