Family Transition Place is looking for dedicated Shelter Relief Counsellors for emergency support services. In this crucial role, you will engage in crisis intervention, counselling, and community resource referrals. The position requires flexibility with day, evening, and overnight shifts, and you will also perform necessary administrative and facility maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide crisis line support for women and children

• Conduct one-on-one and group counselling sessions

• Refer clients to medical, legal, and housing resources

• Complete record keeping and intake procedures

• Ensure routine facility maintenance and security

Requirements:

• Post-Secondary Education in Social Services

• Understanding of issues related to violence against women

• Strong crisis intervention and problem-solving skills

• Good communication skills, both written and oral

• Reliable transportation and ability to work independently
