Description
Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Objectively identifies the presence or absence of disease utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations, including but not limited to transesophageal echocardiography, trans‑catheter echo‑guided procedures, pericardiocentesis, echo‑guided myocardial biopsies, contrast‑enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography. Modifies procedures when necessary to meet special circumstances or to provide clinically useful information cost‑effectively.
Complies with the standards set by the American Society of Echocardiography and departmental policies and procedures.
- Oregon Sonographer upon hire
- National Registered Cardiac Sonographer – Cardiovascular Credentialing International, or
- National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer – Cardiovascular Credentialing International, or
- National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire
- Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from a CAAHPE accredited school in noninvasive cardiovascular technology or diagnostic medical sonography
- Minimum 1 year of experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations
- Minimum of 800 exams using all available imaging modalities
- Pediatric echocardiography experience
- Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart failure patients (mechanical support devices)
- Experience with echo‑guided trans‑catheter procedures (e.g., cent Medical Center)

Pay Range: $44.67 - $69.35 per hour (additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.)
