PAY AND BENEFITSAnnual Pay Range: $68,097.49 - $91,932.12
Hourly Pay Range: $32.739179 - $44.198134
Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position. This position is an “at will” position and serves under the County Counsel on an employment contract.

- 16 hours of vacation accrual per month
- Eligible newly hired employees will have the one-time option to frontload their first year of vacation accruals! This means you have access to vacation leave at the time of hire.

- 10 paid holidays and 1 personal day per year
- Membership in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS)/Oregon Public Service Retirement Plan (OPSRP):
- Employer-paid 6% PERS retirement contribution (The county currently pays the employee's share of the retirement contribution.)
- A Choice of Medical Plans that include chiropractic coverage, alternative care, vision, and prescription drug coverage
- A Choice of Dental Plans

JOB DETAILS AND QUALIFICATIONSThe Office of County Counsel is seeking a skilled Civil Paralegal to join a collaborative legal team serving the Board of County Commissioners, county departments, elected officials, and employees. This substantive paralegal role is ideal for a professional who enjoys complex legal work, thrives in a fast-paced public law environment, and takes pride in supporting attorneys on matters that shape local government operations and community outcomes.
As a Civil Paralegal, you will play a key role in case development, legal research, litigation support, and document preparation across municipal law areas, supporting the office's ten attorneys. This includes labor and employment, where you may address workplace policy disputes; land use, where you could help shape growth through zoning and planning; civil rights, supporting cases that protect individual freedoms;
contracts, ensuring legal compliance and fairness; torts, dealing with personal injury claims; and code enforcement, maintaining community standards through legal compliance. This diverse scope lets you…
